Day 33 - July 26 Singapore
Hi and welcome! We had an evening flight back to Jakarta so we decided to visit the Gardens by the Bay. There are several major attractions here including two large conservatory domes and what they call the Super Trees. We focused on the two conservatories - one with a cloud forest habitat and one for flowers. The Cloud Forest Dome simulates a mountain top thrust up into a cloud formation layer along with the climate and plants that you would find there. You walk into the dome and immediately see a huge waterfall with cool mist everywhere. This was, hands down, my favorite spot in all of Singapore. You can see Sarah in this spot above. Below are a some other shots, but they really cannot do it justice.
Next are some shots from the Flower Dome, which recreates a cool dry climate. Oh, and some dragons, because they like the dry heat, I guess? And a really weird sculpture of a family with only their tops solid .... cool stuff but very different.
We flew back "home" to Jakarta that evening, but there is picture and a story that I want to save for tomorrow. Singapore was interesting. I am very glad we went. I am not sure what it would be like to live there as the pace seems to move pretty fast but it was great to visit.
Folks - thanks for reading and commenting on our blog. We are more than half way through this journey and things will start moving along faster for us now. Wherever you are, we hope you have a great day.
