Day 50 - August 12 Packing up
Last day in Indonesia. Man, it went too fast. We arrived June 28th and we are leaving tomorrow early morning - August 13th. Today was spent getting gear together and watching Sherri magically combine everything into the three suitcases you see above.
We leave grateful that we have come and yet anxious to get back. It has been an incredible trip. One of my favorite moments was when Sarah looked at me and said, "You know Dad, people are pretty much just people. Even if they do live on the other side of the planet. They do all things we do - they are born, they go to school, they get married. We're really not that different." I could not have said it better myself.
Folks, at 3:30 AM tomorrow we leave for the Jakarta airport to catch our flight to Tokyo. From there we continue on Boston. I will drop another entry to the blog when I can, but it may be a few days. I will continue this blog until we reach our final destination - El Paso. Along the road from Boston to El Paso I will put in a few reflection posts on the whole trip. What did it cost, what would I do differently, and some thoughts on gear and health concerns are some posts I have planned.
For today, this is my last post from Indonesia. Thanks for reading and following along with us.
