Day 40 - August 2 Yogja
Hi everyone and welcome back to the blog. Today was shopping day for us. We hit the street markets in Yogja for just a few souvenirs to take home. Sarah says that she is unlike most women and does not like shopping. I happen to know that her mom (Sherri) is not a huge fan of it either. Part of it is that we all feel a tremendous spiritual weight of all our possessions. We downsized tremendously at the start of this journey but we still feel we own way too much stuff. We know that sounds odd, but it really is true.
One of the blogs I read pretty often has been an inspiration for me on this. It is about a family (the Boyink clan) that decided to sell their house and live full time in an RV. It is called Ditching Suburbia and you can find it here if you like. If you stop by his blog, consider dropping Mike an email. He is great on responding to questions.
Anyway, we bought a few things and then did a huge stack of laundry to get ready for the next leg of our journey - out to East Java and Malang. Below are a couple of pictures of the shops we were at - just to give you a feel for it.
Take care and thanks for stopping by!
